Ben Langhinrichs’ “Help bloggers decide what to write about” idea…

From the moment Ben expressed this idea at the Blogger BOF I was on board; for the simple reason that I struggle for things to blog about. I could blog about planet lotus all day but that would bore the piss out of everyone. Having a place to go to bat around blogging ideas would be fantastic…
Eiher the blogger could float an idea he/she was thinking about, or a non-blogger could post a topic he/she would like to see. Quickly, the community could give feedback on whether that was interesting. There would need to be a slight modification to allow people to clearly “take on” a topic, but the Completed view would be far more popular there than on IdeaJam.
In an effort to take this to the next level, why not use a simple, old fashion dedicated forum to get this going? To start everything would be informal, “taking on” a topic or “closing it out” could be done as a reply to the main topic.
I’ve gone ahead and setup a board on the Planet Lotus Forum to do just this. Since many bloggers and fans of their work hang out here, why not host it here? If it does take off I can always integrate new ideas on the front page navigator to give it more attention.
To get it started I posted my first curiosity here.

Good move Yancy. Let’s see what percolates in the forums.

Your planetlotus.org just killed major parts of IBM’s website, please spare with them as they are only using WebSphere which can’t handle very much traffic. Or actually don’t, just push more traffic so they will have to switch to Lotus Domino!
