Hot Blogs: how its calculated. Includes a Poll.

The Planet Lotus Hot Blog list is currently made up of the 6 boggers that have received the most clicks for the past 5 days from all their posts, i.e., from searches, mobile.planetlotus.org, inside their profile, previews, etc.

Is this fine or should it be limited to clicks on the past 5 days worth of blog entries; take the poll?

Your opinion counts!

  1. I think all blog entries should count, not just the last 5 days. If a 6 day old entry is getting a large number of clciks, it is an indication that the blog is active/hot.

  2. @yancy

    “boggers” ????
You getting a dig in at the paddies on PL? ;) LOL

I think you could perhaps you could weight the “hotness” with your content rating to keep the less Domino-y entries like some of mine out of the hit parade.

  3. maybe overall, maybe the last 5 days. If you missed something from last week that was big, the current one won’t reflect that. Plus now we enter Digg status.. eww

  4. @Chris “If you missed something from last week that was big, the current one won’t reflect that.”

The way it is today would catch this, the other option would not.

I have to check into digg status; what don’t you like about it?

  5. Gosh, I wish I would have had that inofmatrion earlier!
